Our History - Family Owned and Operated
Back in early 1970, our associate publisher and our two co-publishers had an idea. They were fed-up and frustrated by having to pay a fortune to place classified ads to sell their respective cars in
The San Francisco Chronicle.
We've been told, sometime during a Saturday poker night, they came up with the crazy idea of starting their own coupon and classified newspaper. Their idea was to keep it simple, make it free (to pick up), keep the coupon and classified ads cheap (3 line for a dollar!), keep print advertising for businesses affordable, and make it easy.
In May of 1970, they took a leap of faith and with the help of their family and friends, they pulled together and started our newspaper:
The San Francisco Advertiser.
37 years later, we are still doing all the things they had set out to do and more. In addition to our classified newspaper with an expanded coupon cart section, we have our newly improved website
http://www.sfadvertiser.com which is full of classified ads and coupons from local San Francisco Bay Area businesses.
Today, our team has remained true to the mission and values that started our company: we are still love to help our readers find the best deals and save money; and, we're still the most affordable place to advertise your business (and we work!) in San Francisco!
